The bailout.
Since no one really cares what I think I find it funny to post my thoughts. I guess you could call it a release. The car industry wants some money to stay afloat. I worry that we the taxpayers are prolonging the inevitable. Let em go bankrupt. Here is why. The unions have positioned themselves in a way that overly rewards the workers with hefty packages. All the way through retirement. I understand that $2000 of every car built goes directly to employees benefits and retirees as opposed to a much smaller amount going to car manufacturers like Nissan and Toyota thereby cutting the competitive edge for an American car. Not to mention the top brass raking in the cash with their fleet of corporate jets and the like. I think to make them competitive and clean the mess up we need a clean slate. That is the only way that you will be able to deal with the unions and the old guard. Clean house. Bring in some young innovative thinkers. Up to date on all the new technology. Lets bust up that good ole boy system and lets get competitive again because we are making good cars now thanks to the pressure from the competitors. So I see bankruptcy as not a bad thing. Sure, we will suffer short term in the economy but in the long run I think we will soar. With our new elected representatives I am confident we will not see a bankruptcy though . They are beholding to the Unions that help put them in office and they are not about to disappoint their base. Hey, just my thoughts. Peace.

The bailout
I am not all that up on the workings of the economy but I do have some questions or should I say concerns. I am concerned that someone who bought a house and did not plan properly to cover the debt, are now going to be relieved of that burden. A plan they should have planned for and considered all the different angles before they signed on the dotted line. When Judy and I bought our first house we thought and thought about all the things that could happen if times got tough. Such as a job loss or whatever. We decided that we could do it and we opted for a small house that would be within our means. Job loss ? We'll manage. I call it self reliance. Seems to me that now we want to bail out those people that made the bad decisions. Its almost like no self responsibility. Same can be said about the businesses that have indulged in bad money management for so long. There will be no penalties for their ineptness. The government is here to bail you out. I believe strongly in taking care of oneself. I call it self reliance. I think if we are going to bail all these people out we (the people) should get a cut. I want a piece of the company and benefit from the proceeds if and when they recover. I want a piece of the house if and when they recover. Albeit a small piece but wouldn't that be fair. Perhaps a lien that would have to be satisfied. Just my thoughts.

Greetings
This is an attempt to blog. I do not want to be left behind in this day and age of technology. Plus, I think this is a wonderful thing as a way to stay in touch with family and friends so here I go. In case anyone is wondering, the title "RAS3104" is the initials of our business and the address. As this has been such an important part of my life, I felt that it would be appropriate. So from Ras3104 to all my family and friends, Peace.
